Lagerfeld aims for Global Domination

With an eye for a bold statement, Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, conducted somewhat of a geography lesson, at Chanel’s recent fashion show for Fall/Winter 2013-14, and attempted total global domination of the well-heeled with money to spend.

Crowds of A-listers gathered in the heart of Paris, at the Grand Palais, to fix their eyes on an enormous globe slowly rotating in the centre of Chanel’s circular catwalk, with flags that beared the famous ‘CC’ to show the locations where the luxury label’s stores reside. Whilst remaining in awe of the sight, the crowd settled and an impeccable cascade of silhouettes appeared, walking in the same direction as the globes rotation.

The collection was mainly based on shades of black, which wasn’t a surprise for Chanel. However, Lagerfeld incorporated radiance and shine through the innovative use of metallic brilliance and flare. This aesthetically pleasing feature was also clearly reflected in the design of the globe, as it featured specks of gold that illuminated the countries.

The crowd surely witnessed one of the most unique and spectacular Chanel fashion shows to date. There is no denying that Lagerfeld successfully possessed a crowd pleaser that displayed a sure sign of world domination within a haute couture platform.

Cara steals hearts one by one

Who is Cara? What is Cara? Where is Cara?

These questions may have been floating around a few years ago. However, today Cara Delevingne, has been keeping the fashion world on their toes, as she conquers one high fashion show after the next.

This unusual beauty has modelled for luxury fashion labels such as, Moschino, Jason Wu, Oscar de la Renta, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Stella McCartney and Chanel. In the 50 Top Models list on models.com, Delvingne is currently ranked number 17 and was named by the Evening Standard's category of "Most Invited"as one of "London's 1,000 Most Influential of 2011".

"So why is everyone going crazy for some Cara?" you may ask. Cara, 20, is one of few models today who is extremely relatable and is certainly still showing her youth through her quirkiness, despite being in such a mature industry. Most of the photos you will see of Delevingne, are either of her wearing something eccentric or pulling a silly face.

There are also many photos of Delevingne devouring junk food, such as hamburgers and chocolate. This makes Delevingne seem even more real, approachable and relatable, and proves that she doesn't just eat lettuce and air, which is perceived to come, as a package deal, with being a high fashion model.

Although she has already stole the hearts of fashion's most influential and coveted labels, there is surely no stopping her in what she wants do in the near future. As one of fashion's most well-known models today, there is no denying that Develingne has invaded the wonderful world of fashion, and no one is complaining!

Stay beautiful!

In 2013 I solemnly swear to...

In 2013 I solemnly swear to... go to a Ladurée store!

I mean let's be honest here... Who couldn't resist a macaroon filed shop with a pastel french themed cottage interior! Unfortunately the closest one to me is in Sydney, but I WILL experience the goodness that is 'Ladurée' very soon!

For those who have no clue what I'm talking about, here is what Wikipedia has kindly shared about Ladurée...

Ladurée (French pronunciation: [la.dy.ʁe]) is a maker of luxury cakes and pastries. It is known as the inventor of the double-decker macaron, fifteen thousand of which are sold every day. They are still one of the best known makers of macarons in the world.

The first time I heard about this beautiful store was through one of Alex's youtube videos on Hrhcollection. She showed this beautifully crafted pen that had little plastic macaroons on the top of it that you pushed down (to operate the pen). While I was on the search to find what I thought was just a cute stationary brand, I discovered that this company was so much more. Also, I began noticing Ladurée in other places such as beautiful shots that were being posted on instagram of the stores and macaroons galore!

I cannot urge you enough to go and discover Ladurée for yourself! If anyone is interested, here is their website: www.laduree.fr and of course you can change the language to suit and also find a store near you!

To be honest, I am in utter envy of those of you lovely people who have either gone to a Ladurée store or have one in your city. Mark my words, you are extremely lucky haha!

Anyway, now I'm craving a macaroon mmm, so I must stop typing and let my mind rest until next time!

Remember that you are all loved and adored!
